Lady Wolves open season against Jefferson
The Joliet Junior College softball team was defeated by Jefferson College (MO) in a doubleheader season opener. In game one, JJC was shut out with a 4-0 decision. Stephanie Stanton had one hit for the Lady Wolves. In game two, JJC fell by a score of 5-1. Kristen Arndt had two hits including a double for the Lady Wolves. Lady Wolves earn a split decision against DuPage
The Joliet Junior College softball team earned a split decision against N4C conference opponent College of DuPage in their home opener. In game one, the Lady Wolves won by a score of 4-1. Stephanie Stanton doubled twice for the Lady Wolves. Miranda Lawson also finished with two hits in the contest. Winning pitcher Karli Beauchamp struck out 8 and gave up only two hits in her seven innings. In game two, DuPage topped JJC by a score of 10-5. Lauren Langland tripled twice and finished with two RBI's. Miranda Lawson had two hits, while Stephanie Stanton, Michelle Grove, and Becky Stellwagen all doubled in the contest. The JJC softball team earned a pair of victories against N4C conference opponent Madison College. In game one, the Lady Wolves claimed a 9-1 victory. Michelle Grove led the way with a home run, two doubles, and 3 RBI's. Lauren Langland (RBI), Kristin Arndt (2B, RBI), Karli Beauchamp (2 RBI's), and Kelsey Gilboy (2B) all had two hits in the contest. Beauchamp earned the win and struck out five on the mound. In game two, the Lady Wolves held on for the 3-2 win. Becky Stellwagen, Michelle Grove, Miranda Lawson, and Kelsey Gilboy all doubled for Joliet. Kelsey Gilboy picked up the pitching victory. Kristen Arndt doubled, while Stephanie Stanton, Michelle Grove, and Katie Gretz all hit singles. The Joliet Junior College softball team fell in the double elimination Region IV tournament to College of DuPage and Madison College. In game one, DuPage edged out JJC by a score of 10-9. Stephanie Stanton had three hits (3B, 2 RBI's), while Michelle Grove doubled twice (2 RBI's). Kristen Arndt and Katie Gretz also had two hits each. In game two, Madison earned an 11-3 victory over the Lady Wolves. Becky Stellwagen (RBI) and Kristen Arndt (2B, 2 RBI's) had two hits each. Stephanie Stanton tripled in the contest. JJC ends their season with a 11-23 overall record and a 10-10 N4C conference record.
