New Catalog Look:
Beginning in the Spring 2012 semester, the JJC Library will introduce a new catalog interface. The information is the same; the look, feel and options however, are a little bit different. VuFind is an alternative interface for CARLI (Consortium of Academic Research Libraries in Illinois) libraries. Previously, the JJC Library used the “classic” interface provided by CARLI. VuFind is very similar to the classic interface, except it allows for patrons to access information at multiple points without doing multiple searches (ex: searching a title will also bring up the subject headings and topic links to other materials related to the title searched.)
With VuFind, patrons are able to manage their library transactions. This account will allow them to save a search session in the catalog, tag items, see which items they currently have checked out, order items from libraries within Illinois and renew materials checked out from JJC Library and other libraries in Illinois.
For more information see the VUFind tutorial.
