If you wish to brush up your English or Math skills in preparation for the ACT COMPASS Test, visit the Academic Skills Center.

  • The Academic Skills Center offers assistance with:
  • Location: A-1138 (Campus Center) at Main Campus
    • ASC tutoring is also available at other JJC campuses and education centers.  Call for more information.

If you are a non-native speaker who wishes to practice your English skills in a variety of ways, visit the LEAP (Learning English for Academic Purposes) Center

  • The LEAP Center offers assistance with:
    • Practice in speaking and listening in one-on-one or small group environments
    • Reading for comprehension
    • Developing vocabulary
    • Understanding and practicing all grammar concepts
    • Understanding cultural concepts encountered in class assignments

If you are a Nursing Student at the NURS 140 level or higher, visit the Nursing Simulation Lab

  • The Nursing Simulation Lab offers assistance with:
    • Practicing skills in a guided environment or open lab setting
    • Reviewing theory, test-taking skills, study skills, math, and care planning
    • Low fidelity simulations including vital signs, head-to-toe, heart and lung sounds, MAR's, and scenario
    • Advanced placement students
