Joliet Junior College will host an event with Dr. Sandra Steingraber, an internationally recognized ecologist, author, and cancer survivor on Wednesday, May 9. The event is free and open to the public, and will be held on JJC’s Main Campus, 1215 Houbolt Road in Joliet.
At 6 p.m., Dr. Steingraber will give a presentation in the JJC Theatre, which will be followed by a dessert reception and book signing. Due to limited seating availability, reservations are required for the presentation: please visit www.jjc.edu/info/grow
to make reservations.
Dr. Steingraber has keynoted conferences on health and the environment throughout the U.S. and Canada, and has lectured at many universities, including Harvard and Yale.
Her first book, “Living Downstream“, discusses the environmental links between cancer and human health. Her latest book, “Raising Elijah”, explores how the ongoing environmental crisis threatens the health of children. Both books are available for purchase in the JJC Bookstore.
